The Department of Islamic Economics and Finance, which started undergraduate education in 2021 within the Faculty of Political Sciences of Sakarya University, is the first undergraduate department opened in this field among state universities.
Under the Institute of Social Sciences, "Islamic Economics and Finance" is taught at the master's and doctoral levels. Sakarya University also hosts many academicians from different departments (such as Business Administration, Theology, Finance, Economics and Financial Econometrics) who have carried out academic studies in the field of Islamic finance.
